$$$ European UAV market alone worth EUR4.9 billion:
Europe is expected to be the world's third-largest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market over the next decade
behind the US and the Asia-Pacific region.
The European military UAV market is estimated to grow 11 per cent growth between 2005 and 2014
- a total of around EUR4.9 billion (US$5.93 billion).
This does not include unmanned combat air vehicles, which are not expected to arrive until later in the next decade.
The largest segment of the market involves tactical UAVs and would be worth around EUR2.3 billion,
with peak demand coming in 2008-2011 as several nations replaced the existing fleets of this class of UAV /Frost & Sullivan/.
$$$ The global aerospace market to grow from $300 billion in 2002 to $510 billion by 2010
Air vehicles are more profitable than ships:
an F-15 fighter jet sells for roughly $100 million, a Boeing 747 passenger aircraft for $170 million,
where as 150,000-ton oil tankers sell for just some $50 million
Note also that the infrastructure, maintenance and training of above systems builds customer loyalty and generates long-term profit.
